THE GARDEN: a Herbin' Dictionary
Plants of Mystical, Mythological, and a dash of the Medicinal, listed for budding herbalists and herbal/green/garden/kitchen... witches like myself (reminder: there are no licensed or apprenticed herbalists affiliated with The Witchlist at this time). The Garden comes from research and source materials that are most often listed on the page but if not, it is a witch's or intuitive anecdote/correlation.
The medicinal history of these plants are imperative to understanding their ancient mysticism. Long before there were witches and even prior to sorcerers (one of the first names for a magic weilder), there were healers. I will quote some of the primary sources of the most ancient contexts in which the medicine practiced survives and even thrives (blaze it) today. A healer evolves over time to become the antithesis of the witch (demonized, feminized), how strange when they practice the same magic?
The guides themselves are either "complete" meaning that they have a detailed list of information about them, these are indicated below. The "incomplete guides" are marked as such, I have assembled research on this plant and provided the most basic and authentic information. These guides will be filled, in time and if there is something specific about them you are looking for; please, contact me.
